Costs Associated with Exit or Disposal Activities.
 
On December 7, 2021, Eargo, Inc. (the “Company”) announced a plan to reduce its employee workforce by 25 percent to 30 percent to streamline its organization in response to declines in customer orders since the Company announced the investigation of the Company by the U.S. Department of Justice (the “DOJ”).  The Company expects to substantially complete the employee workforce reduction by the end of its fiscal year ending December 31, 2021 and estimates that the costs associated with all activities under the employee workforce reduction plan will be between $1.1 million and $1.6 million, which includes severance and related benefits.
