Leadership

Bill has served as our Chief Operating Officer since April 2019. Bill also previously served as our Chief Customer Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Eargo. Prior to Eargo, Bill was Managing Director at Sonova e-Hearing Care a group company of Sonova AG. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer and then President and Chief Executive Officer of HearingPlanet Inc., which was purchased by Sonova AG. He received a B.S. in business administration from San Diego State University-California State University.

Tricia Burchell serves as Vice President, People Operations and Talent. Prior to joining Eargo, she was the Senior HR Global Operations Manager at Cloudera. In addition, she has led People Operations teams in several small to mid-sized companies, across various industries. Her areas of expertise include developing and scaling People Operations and Talent Acquisition infrastructure, implementing programs designed to increase employee engagement and enhance company culture, as well as providing HR thought leadership across management teams.

Christy has served as our Chief Legal Officer since July 2018 and Secretary since June 2019. Prior to joining Eargo, Christy served as General Counsel at Pebble, a smartwatch manufacturer, where she led Pebble’s global and regulatory compliance teams, as well as all aspects of the mergers and acquisitions process during Pebble’s acquisition by Fitbit in December 2016. Christy also has 8 years of experience as an Intellectual Property litigator at K&L Gates. Christy received her B.A. and M.S. from Stanford University and her J.D. from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.

Mark has served as our Chief Financial Officer since January 2024. Prior to his appointment as Chief Financial Officer, Mark served as our Chief Accounting Officer for two years and, prior to that, as our Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller. Prior to Eargo, Mark was the Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations at Bitmovin, Inc., a provider of web-based video infrastructure solutions. Prior to that, Mark served as the Vice President, Head of Finance and Administration at VeloCloud Networks, Inc. (acquired by VMWare, Inc.) a provider of cloud, software and hardware-based SD-WAN services. Mark has also served in various leadership roles in accounting and finance at ServiceSource, Inc., Citrix Systems, Inc., and United Parcel Services, Inc. and began his professional career with KPMG, LLP. Mark holds dual masters and bachelors degrees in accounting from the University of Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Tim has served as our Chief Technology Officer since September 2022 after previously serving in that role from May 2017 to February 2020. Prior to returning to Eargo, Tim served as President & CEO of Noopl, a consumer audio startup. Tim has also held a number of management roles at Starkey Hearing Technologies, a global hearing technology company, and previously served as an Assistant Professor and Director of Audiology at Vanderbilt University. Tim holds a bachelors degree in Communication Disorders from California State University-Northridge, a M.S. in Audiology from Vanderbilt University, a Ph.D. in Hearing Science from the University of Minnesota, and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
